I understand that coaching is a collaborative process that focuses on supporting individuals with dyslexia develop personalized strategies to manage everyday challenges, build confidence, and optimize how they work and learn based on how their brain functions. Unlike counseling, which addresses emotional and mental health concerns, coaching emphasizes self-understanding and forward-focused skill-building and, it is not a substitute for therapy. I understand Dr. Jacob Santhouse is a licensed counselor in DE, CO, FL, ID, and IL providing therapy services through Olive Counseling. Blue J Coaching provides services separate from therapy. Coaching will not include techniques requiring a therapeutic intervention. If the client requires therapy, Blue J Coaching will provide a referral to a mental health provider or the client will transfer to Olive Counseling.(Required)

I understand that therapy clients of Olive Counseling are not eligible to simultaneously receive coaching services from Blue J Coaching. Clients may transition between therapy and coaching with approval from Jacob if the therapeutic process is complete (therapy to coaching) or if mental health care is needed (coaching to therapy).(Required)

I understand that while Jacob treats the information of all coaching clients as confidential, the confidentiality of coaching sessions does not fall under the same legal protections as therapy. In addition, there are certain limitations to confidentiality that include circumstances required by law, such as situations of harm to self or others, abuse or neglect.(Required)

I understand the difference between coaching and therapy, I understand that coaching is not a replacement for therapy, and I understand that coaching services do not extend to mental health services.(Required)
